EXPERIENCE IS THE BEST TEACHER by  Puspita Wening              When we refer to the word “teacher”, we will deal with “teaching” that has a purpose to make people learning in form of knowledge or skill. This shows us that experience can fulfill teacher’s duty, and we think experience does better, even best in teaching someone. Here, we have some reasons why experience is the best teacher, that is, because it consists of actual knowledge, engages the five sense, and involves an independent learning from the learners.             The first reason why experience is the best teacher is because it consists of actual knowledge. Knowledge is the most important thing we have to obtain in learning process. When we are talking about knowledge, we will think about the sources of it. Books, internet, school teacher, and parents are the things will across our mind. However, those resources only serve theoretical knowledge which is often forgotten easily by the people who are learning. T

Argumentative Text Example

Death Penalty by  Puspita Wening               Death penalty or capital punishment is a kind of punishment in which the doer is killed because he/she does serious crimes, such as, terorism, corruption, and murder that have been proven by the law. In this case, I agree with death penalty for three reasons, that is becasue, it gives retribution effect for the doer, it decreases certain capital crimes rate, and the last it saves state’s outcomes compared to jail punishment. However, there are still some people do not agree with this punishment realated to human rights and deterrence effect for the doer.             The first refusal of death penalty is about human rights. Some people who want to abolish death penalty, often called Abolitionists , do not agree with death penalty because it is the abolition of human rights. Human rights is the right which is given by God for all human beings in the world. It is the fundamental right of a person which must be protected even for

Advantages and Disadvantages of Jigsaw Technique in Teacing Reading             Jigsaw is a teaching technique which at first makes students work in a group. It was designed by a social psychologist , Elliot Aronson , to help weaken ing racial cliques in forcibly integrated schools . I think this technique is useful for the teaching-learning process since it has more advantages than disatvantages. In addition, its advantages can be solved by some solutions.             The first advantage of jigsaw technique is that it promotes students’ self esteem. Self esteem is about how much students value themselves and how important they think they are. It's how they see themselves and how they feel about the things they can do. In jigsaw activities there are two names of the group “home group” and “expert group”. The “expert group” consists of students from different “home group” which will have full responsibility toward the text or material that they have to explain to their “ho

Communicative Language Teaching

Communicative Language Teaching             The assumption about language which says that language is means of communication causes some teachers involve more interactive activities in the classroom. Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) is one of approach used by some teachers. Related to CLT, three definitions talking about it arise from some experts.               The first definition comes from Jack Richards. Richards (2006:2) says that Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) can be understood as a set of principles about the goals of language teaching, how learners learn a language, the kinds of classroom activities that best facilitate learning, and the roles of teachers and learners in the classroom. He thinks that the goal of language teaching is to make the learners being able to communicate using the target language written or oral. Besides, Richards also talks about the way of the learners learn a language which is not merely about memorizing of some grammar patterns,
